Windows users to leverage benefits of cloud computing through Infrastructure and Middleware on Demand (IMOD) Platform

STAMFORD, Conn., March 27, 2009  -- Kaavo Inc. (www.kaavo.com), an innovative provider of cloud computing infrastructure and middleware as a service, today announced its core product, Infrastructure and Middleware on Demand (IMOD) will support one click deployment and automated run-time management for n-tier MS Windows applications on Amazon EC2

Most mid-size enterprise customers currently use Windows OS and are looking for ways to take advantage of the potential of the cloud.  The latest update of IMOD allows Windows OS users to benefit from the same level of security, automation, and ease of use for managing multi-server and multi-tier deployment as those using Linux OS.  Additionally, users are now able to deploy systems with hybrid OS configuration, including systems for applications requiring a combination of Windows and Linux OS.

“Our goal is to provide enterprise-class security and management for cloud computing to all organizations regardless of their size.  Several mid-size enterprise customers heavily use Windows, and this new release of IMOD will allow them to enjoy the cost benefits of cloud computing without compromising enterprise class security and management,” said Jamal Mazhar, Founder and CEO of Kaavo. “We are excited about the opportunity for innovation in the world’s nascent cloud market.”

By tapping the capabilities of cloud computing, IMOD enables users to manage infrastructure as a unified system and provides the following benefits to both users of Linux OS and Windows OS:

  • Application and service centric n-tier configuration: With one click, IMOD automatically brings online one or multi-server systems for running applications.
  • Business continuity: A simple interface to schedule automatic data backups ensures business continuity.
  • Security and access control: IMOD provides a point and click interface to secure data in the clouds through the National Security Agency recommended AES-256 bit data encryption. It allows users to easily and securely connect to servers, transfer data to and from internal datacenters and configure custom firewall rules on cloud servers.
  • Effective monitoring and alerts: Users can monitor resources used by their applications and set up alerts to proactively manage application service levels.
